Why do I feel that permanent abstinence is being pushed here?
I’m not sure. Dryuary has traditionally been focused on abstinence and when MM first started hosting Dryuary, we didn’t mention moderation or MM at all but over the years we’ve relaxed that stance. I think the belief is that people sign up for support to stay dry during the month and if we talk too much about moderation, we’re not supporting their goal for the month. While this magazine would probably appeal mostly to people who are choosing long-term abstinence, it may have strategies that can also be used for moderation. The other discounts for services we’ve offered can be used for both people who are abstaining or moderating.
